I was reading through the section pertaining to the subject I am researching (The crisis in the Middle East and terrorism) of the book I am using, "The Human Odyssey" (a great book) and noticed something. I am not taking sides, but the use of language in the book made me realize that the book is written through an American lens. I wonder how it would be written if it were through a different country's perspective. I do know that some European nations have been attacked, but I have heard nothing out of other countries, such as Canada.
I also spotted an error in the book - it says that the start of terrorism in the United States was with the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. This is incorrect, as the United States Embassy in Baghdad was bombed in the 1980s. It mentions this, but the "start" of terrorism in the United states was still incorrect.
